Ruskeala Express and Ladoga Fjords adventure
Early morning: travel from St. Petersburg (Moscow*) to the town of Sortavala by car/train.
~10:00 – Arrival in the town of Sortavala. Take a motorboat (hovercaft in winter) ride around the picturesque Lake Ladoga fjords including landing on one of the islands.
Return to the town and visit Ruskeala Mountain Park. Another option: visit a reconstructed Viking fortress in the “Bastion” historical park.
Board the Ruskeala Express vintage steam train for a scenic train journey between Ruskeala and Sortavala.
~20:00 – Depart from Sortavala for St. Petersburg by car/train or for Moscow by train.
