Day 1. Arrival in Murmansk. Hunt for the Northern Lights
Pick-up at the airport or train station of Murmansk and transfer to the hotel.
In the evening, join the group and head out to hunt for the northern lights. Depending on the Aurora and cloud coverage forecast, the tour departs between 7 and 9.30 PM – the best time for spotting the Northern Lights near Murmansk. Our guide/photographer will take care of photos and we’ll provide a link to download them.
Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2. Teriberka village tour or Murmansk city tour
Breakfast.
In the morning, join a full day Teriberka tour*. During the trip, you’ll see the endless tundra without any tree, ship graveyard at the Barents Sea rocks, creepy old wooden houses of Teriberka fishing village, first mentioned in chronicles of the XVI century and have lunch with seafood/reindeer at one of the local restaurants (not incl. – choose and pay on the spot).
You can also participate in a side trip to the “Dragon eggs” beach on snowmobiles/foot or join a boat trip to see whales and dolphins thriving in the wild in the Barents Sea waters (conditions depending, extra payment applies).
If you decide to stay in the city, you may wish to attend a 2-hour city tour of Murmansk. Explore the town with the local English-speaking guide and see the Five Corners Square, Defenders of the Soviet Arctic memorial, Kursk submarine memorial and other attractions of Murmansk.
Overnight at the hotel.
*If the weather is right. It happens that the road to the village is closed due to heavy snowfall.
Day 3. Optional: Saami village / dog sledding / snowmobiling
Breakfast.
Optional daytime activities are available if your flight or train leaves in the afternoon or evening. Those may include dog sledding, snowmobiling or a trip to Saami village.
Transfer to the airport in time for your flight.
Flexible departure dates between September and early April.
Prices start from 27.000 Rubles per person, depending on hotel availability and rates.
