Northern Lights Weekend in Murmansk

Murmansk arrival at an day, pick-up at the airport or train station and transfer to the hotel.

In the evening, join the group and head out to hunt for the northern lights*. Depending on the Aurora and cloud coverage forecast, the tour departs between 7 and 9.30 PM – the best time for spotting the Northern Lights near Murmansk. Our guide/photographer will take care of photos and we’ll provide a link to download them.

In the morning, join a full day Teriberka tour*. During the trip, you’ll see the endless tundra without any tree, ship graveyard at the Barents Sea rocks, creepy old wooden houses of Teriberka fishing village, first mentioned in chronicles of the XVI century and have lunch with seafood/reindeer at one of the local restaurants (not incl. – choose and pay on the spot).

You can also participate in a side trip to the “Dragon eggs” beach on snowmobiles/foot or join a boat trip to see whales and dolphins thriving in the wild in the Barents Sea waters (conditions depending, extra payment applies).

If you decide to stay in the city, you may wish to attend a 2-hour city tour of Murmansk. Explore the town with the local English-speaking guide and see the Five Corners Square, Defenders of the Soviet Arctic memorial, Kursk submarine memorial and other attractions of Murmansk.

Visiting a Sami village*, dog sledding, snowmobiling and other activities might be available if your plane or train leaves in the afternoon or evening. Alternatively, allow an extra night in Murmansk. Please, note that these activities are not included into the price and are quoted separately.
