Itinerary
Day 1. Dog sledding
  • Included meals: Lunch
Pick up at the train station or airport of Petrozavodsk.
Transfer and visit a dog kennel. Meet sled dogs and take part in a 2-km long dog-sled safari (dog trekking or hiking with dogs when there is no snow).
Lunch.
Transfer to Petrozavodsk.
Overnight in 4* hotel in Petrozavodsk.

Optional activities: snowmobiling, reindeer sledding and ice fishing.

Day 2. Kizhi Museum
  • Included meals: Breakfast, Tea break
Breakfast at the hotel.
07:30 – Transfer by car* to Oyatevshina, a small village located opposite Kizhi Island. The distance is 300 km and the road takes about 4.5 hours. This way does not depend on ice conditions on Onego Lake so we can use it from October till May.  
Take a short ride from Oyatevshina to Kizhi by a hovercraft (or motorboat). The distance is about 3 km only.
Arrive at Kizhi Island. Visit the grounds of the open-air museum of wooden architecture of Kizhi. See historical wooden churches, chapels, houses of peasants and windmills.
Tea with pastries and pies.
Leave back for Petrozavodsk.
Return to Petrozavodsk at about 20:00.
Transfer to the hotel or train station.

*When there is good ice on Onego Lake we will make this trip by a hovercraft, leaving Petrozavodsk at 10:00 and returning at about 15:00.

Questions & Answers
What kind of vehicles do you use?

We use modern, comfortable 9-seater vans, for example Volkswagen Caravella with plenty of luggage space.
For smaller groups we use suitably sized cars, such as Skoda Octavia.
For bigger groups we use Mercedes Sprinter buses or full-sized coaches.
